Randy Davis
2011 QCMGA CLUB CHAMPION
Randy Davis, like so many of us, is an Arizona transplant hailing originally from western Montana. He liked golf when he was in Jr. High and High School, but a busy schedule and limited golfing weather, prevented him from playing as much as he desired.
He and his bride of almost 25 years, Beth, spent much of their adult lives in Montana, and have been in Quail Creek for 9 1/2 years, They have a daughter who lives in Dallas and is an Elephant Zoo keeper and a Veterinarian Technician.
Breaking away from a busy schedule, Randy likes to hone his golf skills on average 2 - 3 times a week. He has holed the ball in a single stroke twice in his golfing career. Only thing is, however, one of those times it was on a 287 yard Par 4 hole. The other time was a "normal" Hole-in-One on a Par 3.
Traveling to golf courses that he and Beth have never been to before is a hobby Randy and Beth enjoy pursuing. The most memorable course that he can remember ever playing is the Springdale Country Club in Canton, NC. It is cut out of a forest of trees, and is a major challenge to play.
Randy won the three-day Club Championship by shooting a 74 on the first day, 78 on a very windy second day, and a 76 on the final day. Very impressive scores, indeed. His lowest score ever is 67, played on Coyote/Road Runner.
So, next time you see Randy at the Practice Range, just tell him that someone as good as he is just does not need to practice. But, then again, how do you think he got to be as good as he is in the first place?
Congratulations, Randy Davis, QCMGA 2011 Club Champion.
